As autumn settles in and the light shifts, our homes naturally become places of retreat, spaces to gather, rest and mark the change in the air. At Novaco Design, we believe seasonal styling should be gentle, purposeful and guided more by feeling than by decoration. This time of year, we turn to texture, tone and small rituals. Wool throws, soft candlelight.
It's not about dressing a home for show, but adding layers that bring comfort & presence to everyday moments. An extra blanket on the arm of a chair, a place to pause with a warm drink, a table set simply but with care. Rather than leaning into trends, we return to materials and pieces that hold meaning. A handmade bowl, a favourite book left open. Spaces dressed with personality always invite slowness, connection and a feeling of home.
monthly musings

This month has taken us beyond the studio. We have been part of business events and design fairs, Ideas Fest, Bizz Fest and Focus 25, each one a chance to listen, to share, to connect.
We believe learning never stops. There is always more to see, more to question, more to refine. These moments away from the desk are not a pause in the work, they are part of it. Every conversation, every idea feeds back into what we create.
By seeking out new perspectives, we are building a stronger design studio, not only for ourselves, but for the people and places we design for.

We are drawn to the work of Laura Menzies whose paintings seem to hold the shifting light of the season. In October, when colours deepen & the air feels charged with change, her canvases echo that same movement, pigments flowing, colliding, settling into quiet harmony.
There is a certain courage in her process:
To embrace flux, to allow the unplanned, to trust where each piece will arrive. Her work reminds us that design, too, responds to rhythm & season. It is never static. It evolves, it gathers depth, it speaks of its moment. This attunement, to change, to atmosphere, to time itself, is what connects her art to our practice.

intentions
In the month ahead, we will focus on nurturing the connections made at recent events & fairs.
The conversations begun at Bizfest & Focus 25 were more than introductions; they were the starting points for ideas,
collaborations & shared ambitions.
Our intention is to follow these threads, to understand where our work and their vision can meet. To build relationships that will strengthen our practice & benefit the clients we serve.
